Pat Tryson is taking on crew chief duties for Nelson Piquet Jr. and the #30 Nationwide Series team at Turner Scott Motorsports. Tryson most recently worked for BK Racing with David Reutimann and the #83 team, but the veteran crew chief has an extensive motorsports resume that includes eight career wins during his tenure at Roush Fenway Racing with Mark Martin and Penske Racing with Kurt Busch. Tryson replaces Chris Carrier, who led Piquet to two wins and a career-high finish of seventh in the truck series in 2012. However, this season Piquet has not shown the same promise in the Nationwide Series. In 20 starts, Piquet has produced just two top-10 finishes. Carrier was reassigned to work with Ben Kennedy, the 21-year-old great-grandson of NASCAR founder Bill France. Kennedy will race at Bristol in the truck series Aug. 21.( Fox Sports )(8-8-2013) News from August 7, 2013
