Marcos Ambrose won the Coors Light Pole Award for the 28th Annual Cheez-It 355 at The Glen with a lap of 68.777 seconds, 128.241 mph. His qualifying lap set a track qualifying record that was previously held by Juan Pablo Montoya (127.02 mph in 2012). Ten drivers surpassed the old track record: Ambrose, Clint Bowyer, Martin Truex Jr., AJ Allmendinger, Kyle Busch, Jamie McMurray, Paul Menard, Brad Keselowski, Joey Logano & Matt Kenseth. This is his third pole in 177 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races. His previous pole was at Sonoma Raceway in 2012. This is his first pole and eighth top-10 start in 2013. This is his first pole in six races at Watkins Glen International. Clint Bowyer (second) posted his ninth top-10 start of 2013 and his second in eight races at Watkins Glen International.
