A new sign and a new name were unveiled Saturday for the Girl Scouts camp on Turnersburg Highway [Iredell County, NC]. The Girl Scouts Hornets Nest Council s (GSHNC) nearly 700-acre property at 1919 Turnersburg Highway is now known as the Dale Earnhardt Environmental Leadership Campus at Oak Springs. The Dale Earnhardt Foundation awarded a $2 million gift to the Charlotte-based GSHNC a year ago for development of the leadership campus. The money was used in the past year to construct a dam and build a 25-acre lake on the property.( Kanapolis Indpendenet Tribune )
