UPDATE: Planned one- and two-day tests for several NASCAR Sprint Cup teams at Nashville Superspeedway may be brought to an early end Saturday – which also may prompt those teams to make a hasty exit from Music City. The reason is quick-approaching bad weather. The National Weather Service issued a winter weather alert early Saturday calling for rain in the afternoon turning to snow and possibly sleet in the evening. Estimates of snowfall range from a half-inch to as much as three inches in surrounding areas, with potentially a half-inch of ice accumulation, as well. Among teams that tested at Nashville the last day or two, with some having been expected to stick around for Saturday included Hendrick Motorsports (#5-Kasey Kahne and #88-Dale Earnhardt Jr.), Roush Fenway Racing (#16-Greg Biffle, #17-Ricky Stenhouse Jr., #99-Carl Edwards, Trevor Bayne), Richard Childress Racing (#31-Ryan Newman, #27-Paul Menard), Richard Petty Motorsports (#43-Aric Almirola), Michael Waltrip Racing (#66-Jeff Burton), Team Penske (#22-Joey Logano), Germain Racing (#13-Casey Mears) and BK Racing (#83-Ryan Truex).(NBC Sports)(2-2-2014)
