Teams in the NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series will run different tire set-ups at Michigan this weekend . . . in Sprint Cup, teams will run the same left-side tire code they ran twice at this track last season . . . this is the first time they have run this right-side code at Michigan, though they did run it earlier this season at Kansas . . . compared to what was run in 2013, this right-side tire features just a slight compound change . . . another change from last year is an increase of two psi (LF), four psi (LR) and six psi (RF & RR) in the minimum recommended air pressure in all four tires . . . Goodyear tested at Michigan on April 10-11 . . . teams and drivers participating in that test were the #15-Clint Bowyer, #16-Greg Biffle, #21-Bayne, #31-Ryan Newman and #88-Earnhardt Jr. . . . as on all NASCAR ovals greater than one mile in length, teams are required to run inner liners in all four tire positions at Michigan . . . air pressure in those inner liners should be 12-25 psi greater than that of the outer tire (Goodyear), see tire codes. pressures, set limits and more on the Michigan Race Info page – Goodyear section.(6-13-2014)
