#16-Greg Biffle says he is still in contract negotiations in what he hopes will be a new deal to remain at Roush-Fenway Racing. Between practices Saturday at Pocono the 44-year old driver told PRN’s Garagepass radio show, ‘I really like the program at Roush-Fenway, I really like (sponsor) 3M and that’s really my focus. I have talked with other teams and there are options there but I think Roush is where I want to stay.’ When asked about a deadline as to when he would like to finalize a deal, Biffle said ‘I’m hoping we have it done in the next month or so. UPDATE: Biffle and his primary sponsor, 3M, will remain with Roush Fenway Racing, multiple sources have confirmed to the Charlotte Observer. An official announcement of contract extensions for Biffle and the sponsor with RFR could come as soon as this coming week, sources said.A team spokesman said the organization would continue its policy of not commenting on drivers’ contract status until an official announcement was made.(Charlotte Observer)(6-9-2014)
UPDATE2: been told that Biffle has signed to stay on at Roush Fenway Racing, no word when it will be announced. As the Charlotte Observer mentioned, 3M will remain with Biffle and RFR as the sponsor.(6-19-2014)
UPDATE3: Roush Fenway Racing’s President Steve Newmark tweeted: ‘Working hard to put together a package for the 16 program in the future but nothing to report yet. Hope to have some news soon.’
UPDATE4: Greg Biffle said Friday he is still working on a new contract to stay at Roush Fenway Racing. Biffle admitted he has talked to other teams in the garage, but he was presently negotiating with Roush. ‘My deal is definitely not done,’ he told The Associated Press during practice at Sonoma Raceway. ‘I’m trying to negotiate an extension.
