Ambrose totally focused on V8 Supercars, not thinking of NASCAR:

The man who will make his shock V8 comeback today and attempt to spoil Jamie Whincup’s championship party declared; ‘I haven’t thought about NASCAR once’. Ahead of the mouth-watering battle between two Australian racing giants, beginning on Friday at the Sydney 500, Marcos Ambrose brushed aside talk that he had come home to retire in a V8 following a 10-year stint that saw him conquer America by vowing to make DJR/Team Penske a championship force. Less than two weeks after landing in Australia following his final NASCAR race, Ambrose said he had been living and breathing V8 Supercars and did not miss his former category – which happens to be the second biggest in the world – a bit. ‘I have to be honest,’ Ambrose said. ‘It was great to do, a great to be part of, but I have been back in Australia now for two-and-a-half weeks and I haven’t thought about NASCAR once. I am really in the moment now and I have come back and experienced the new generation V8 Supercar for the first time and I am thrilled with it so far. It is a nice handling car and does everything really well. It has incredible stopping power and the tyres are pretty good. The car itself is pretty faultless. My experience (in America) was great but I am looking to the future and to this weekend. That is where we are going to kick start this DJR/Team Penske alliance and hopefully start the process of building it up into a championship team.’(The Daily Telegraph)(12-5-2014)
