ECR Engines has promoted longtime Chief Operating Officer Richie Gilmore to the position of President. The championship winning engine builder will assume his new role effective immediately. Gilmore, 50, is a native of Rochester, N.H. and has been part of ECR Engines since it was formed in 2007 when Richard Childress Racing and Dale Earnhardt, Inc. combined their engine development and production efforts. His responsibilities will still include overseeing the daily operations of ECR Engines, business operations and the engine lease programs currently in place. Since its inception with Gilmore at the helm, ECR Engines has won more than 200 races on various levels, multiple championships and continues to be a leader in engine development and production through innovative technology. Gilmore has been part of the NASCAR landscape since 1988 as an employee of Bob Whitcomb Racing before he went to work at Hendrick Motorsports as an assistant engine builder in 1990. Since then, he has been part of six Daytona 500 victories, numerous championships on all three NASCAR national series levels, Tudor United SportsCar Championship series, and various short track teams who use ECR horsepower.(ECR Engines)(2-5-2015)
