This week Boris Said makes his third 2015 NASCAR XFINITY Series start in the seat of the #54 Monster Energy Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota Camry. The 52-year old Carlsbad, California native is a longtime NASCAR racing veteran who will pilot the JGR Toyota this weekend and again at upcoming road course XFINITY series events at the Mid Ohio Sportscar Course on August 15 and Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin on August 29. Across 10 years of NASCAR XFINITY Series racing Said has recorded 24 races in all three of NASCAR’s top three series at Watkins Glen International. In his first #54 Toyota Camry run in May at the famed 2.66-mile Talladega Superspeedway, Said started from a strong fifth-place qualifying run, ran as high as first place among series veterans and completed the event in 16th-place after serving a NASCAR imposed penalty on the team at race start. His next #54 Camry run came at Iowa Speedway in Newton, in June, where he started in the 22nd position and battled the 7/8-mile oval for a 26th-place finish.(Joe Gibbs Racing)(8-4-2015)
