Jeff Gordon will be honored at the 10th Annual North Carolina Motorsports Industry Awards Ceremony and hosted by the North Carolina Motorsports Association, January 13, 2016. Gordon, who will retire from full-time racing at the conclusion of the 2015 season, will be awarded the NCMA Achievement in Motorsports Tribute Award for his personal and professional contributions to the motorsports industry in the state of North Carolina. “We are incredibly excited to have the opportunity to honor Jeff and his amazing contributions to the sport of auto racing in our state,” said Greg Fornelli, NCMA Chairman. “Jeff Gordon changed the face of NASCAR with his winning personality and his winning ways. His talent, his marketability and his philanthropy opened our sport to a whole new audience.” Past recipients of the Achievement Award include Bill France Jr., Benny Parsons, Dale Earnhardt, Richard Petty, Richard Childress, O. Bruton Smith, Junior Johnson, Humpy Wheeler, Ned Jarrett & Family and Mike Helton. The NC Motorsports Industry Awards Ceremony presented by Fifth Third Bank, which will also honor companies making an impact in the state’s racing industry, takes place Jan. 13, 2016 at the Embassy Suites Convention Center in Concord, N.C.
