Justin Allgaier is the leading candidate to replace Regan Smith in an Xfinity Series ride at JR Motorsports in 2016, Motorsport.com has learned. Allgaier currently drives the #51 Brandt Chevy for HScott Motorsports in the Sprint Cup Series. However, the team announced last month Clint Bowyer will take over the ride for 2016. Allgaier would not confirm he is the top prospect for the JRM job, but told Motorsport.com he is still working on his program for next year.(Motorsport)(10-22-2015)
