When Chris Buescher won the Pennsylvania 400 Sprint Cup Series race at Pocono Raceway on August 1, 2016, it was only the 4th time a car running the #34 won a Sprint Cup Series race. The last win in #34 was when David Ragan won the Aaron’s 499 Sprint Cup Series race at Talladega on May 5, 2013 for the third win. The other two wins were big milestones in NASCAR history. NASCAR Hall of Famer driver Wendell Scott won at Jacksonville on December 1, 1963, the only African-American to win a Cup race.
