Alex Bowman will return behind the wheel of the #88 Axalta/University of Michigan Chevy this weekend. The 23-year-old will fill in for Earnhardt for the second time this weekend in Michigan. He previously subbed for Earnhardt at New Hampshire and was running solidly inside the top 10 before a flat tire relegated him to a 26th-place finish. Axalta and the University of Michigan recently partnered to support engineering and business students in addition to coatings research and other projects, leading to a joint paint scheme that Bowman will run this weekend at Michigan. The maize and blue #88 Axalta/University of Michigan Chevy was unveiled in June at Axalta’s Mt.
