Alan Kulwicki’s memory is celebrated in his sport-and in his hometown. Alan Kulwicki Memorial Park is a 28-acre parcel in Greenfield, Wisconsin, where Kulwicki grew up. The park includes a pavilion featuring memorabilia from Kulwicki’s racing career. Bristol Motor Speedway, the track where Kulwicki was scheduled to race the week he died, has a grandstand named in his honor. The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where Kulwicki earned an engineering degree, and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte offer scholarships in Kulwicki’s name. UWM also has an Alan Kulwicki Memorial Student Center. In 2015, several Kulwicki friends and former associates started the Kulwicki Driver Development Program, designed to support short-track racers trying to follow Kulwicki’s path to stardom. The program-run by Tom Roberts, Kulwicki’s public relations representative at the time of his death – selects seven drivers every year and supports their efforts in numerous ways, including a $7,777 check for each (7 was Kulwicki’s car number).(AutoWeek)
