A scan Friday showed Aric Almirola should return next month after suffering a partially crushed vertebra in a May 13 crash. Richard Petty Motorsports said Almirola, who has missed the last four events, has a slight chance of missing only three more races and returning for the July 8 race at Kentucky, but it is more likely he returns at either the following weeks at New Hampshire or Indianapolis.
