The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) will make its annual trip to Auto Club Speedway this weekend for the final race of #NASCARGoesWest. Germain Racing will take the No. 13 Camaro ZL1 to the intermediate track with Twisted Tea on the hood for the first time this season. Twisted Tea joined Germain Racing and Ty Dillon at the start of 2017 and are continuing their partnership into this season with primary sponsorship for three races. Twisted Tea is also bringing their Twisted Tailgate Pro Tips RV Tour on the road with the NASCAR circuit to give fans an opportunity to learn how to be a professional tailgater.
This weekend will mark Dillon’s second MENCS start at Auto Club Speedway. He made his rookie debut there last year, starting in the 21st position, finishing in 18th place and leading one lap. He has four previous NASCAR Xfinity Series starts at the 1.5-mile track. Dillon scored his best finish of eighth place in 2014. In the series, he has two top-10 finishes, an average start of 10.0 and an average finish of 12.2.
"Auto Club Speedway is a really fun track. It’s a pretty rough track, but the groove is really wide. If it were to happen, it’s possible to go four or five wide around that racetrack easily. The groove is probably one of the widest that we race on all year. You can run anywhere from scraping the wall with your right-rear quarter panel to almost running your fender on the flat apron.
"It’s fun as a driver when you have a lot of options. On the flip side, the surface is getting older, so the tires are eaten up pretty quickly and can be a challenge to manage. So I always look forward to going to Auto Club. It hasn’t always been my best track in the past, but I’m looking forward to going back this year in our Twisted Tea Camaro ZL1 and hopefully doing better than we have before."
