Brett Moffitt and the No. 16 team head to Chicagoland Speedway in search of their third victory this season thanks to Fr8Auctions and Northland Foundations Inc.
Fr8Auctions, an Atlanta-based asset recovery and inventory liquidation business, entered the sport with Moffitt in 2015 and will reunite this weekend in Joliet, IL along with Northland Foundations Inc. The relationship between Fr8Auctions and Moffitt dates to 2015 when the pair united at Homestead-Miami Speedway in an effort that culminated with Moffitt capturing Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Rookie of the Year title. The Cup Series season finale in ’15 marked Fr8Auctions’ first foray into NASCAR and they are returning this weekend at a crucial juncture in Moffitt’s breakout season. Fr8Auctions’ partnership with Moffitt and HRE allows the No. 16 team to continue their impressive 2018 campaign into Chicagoland Speedway.
Moffitt and the No. 16 Fr8Auctions team return to a 1.5-mile tri-oval, a style of track they have excelled at this year, after nearly pulling off back-to-back wins a week ago at Gateway Motorsports Park. Moffitt led 18 laps and was in serious contention for the victory despite being involved in a previous incident. Moffitt has steered the No. 16 Toyota Tundra to two victories (AMS and Iowa Speedway) and has tallied five top-five and five top-10 finishes through ten races. He’s collected 11 playoff points, which has positioned him second on the NCWTS Playoff Grid and has led 151 laps this season.
"I cannot thank Marcus Barela and Fr8Auctions enough, along with Northland Foundations, for coming on board this weekend at Chicagoland. It was extremely special to win the Rookie of the Year title in the Cup Series with them three years ago and this is even better. Last week at Gateway we weren’t sure what our status was for this weekend and having them come on board has given us the chance to race for another win this week at Chicago. I knew it was only a matter of time before more people realized what this team and organization is capable of, and hopefully we can put Fr8Auctions in victory lane on Friday night."
"In terms of pure speed, our Fr8Auctions team has plenty of confidence. There isn’t a racetrack we show up at where we don’t think we can win. Scott (Zipadelli) and every person on this team does a great job putting quality Tundras on the racetrack and it shows every week. We consistently run up front and lead laps, and it’s nice to have multiple wins under our belt. I felt like we were the truck to beat last week at Gateway, so we have a job to finish this week at Chicago."
