XFINITY, Truck drivers to test Homestead

MIAMI – With Ford Championship Weekend rapidly approaching, some of NASCAR’s top teams are coming to Homestead-Miami Speedway to get a taste of what championship racing is all about.

On Tuesday, August 21 and Wednesday, August 22, three NASCAR XFINITY series teams and one NASCAR Camping World Truck series team are slated to run testing at Homestead-Miami Speedway, weather permitting. The teams will run laps around the 1.5-mile oval each day as they prepare for Ford Championship Weekend at the Speedway, November 16-18, where NASCAR will crown champions in each of its three national series.

The track will open up the grandstands for public viewing from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. during the testing sessions. Admission to the testing is free, and fans may park in the parking lot on SW 336th Street, directly across from Gate 4.

Below is a list of the drivers scheduled to participate in the testing session, subject to change.

Heading into Friday night’s XFINITY series race at Bristol Motor Speedway, Bell, Reddick and Cindric rank first, seventh and ninth in points, respectively.
