For the fifth year in a row, the Chili Bowl Midget Nationals will feature over 300 entries.
The entry deadline passed over the weekend, leaving 302 driver-midget combinations entered in the 33rd running of the annual classic at the Tulsa Expo Hall in Oklahoma. The race first surpassed the 300 entry mark in 2015 and hasn’t looked back since.
The 2019 running will feature former winners Christopher Bell, Rico, Sammy Swindell, Tim McCreadie and Tracy Hines. In addition, Kyle Larson returns looking for his first after another disappointment in 2018.
NASCAR driver Alex Bowman will make his fourth appearance in the Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals. Bowman’s last run in the Chili Bowl was in 2016 with a 13th place finish in the E-Feature. Alex will field a second car for USAC racing star, C.J. Leary, who wheeled a car for Bowman in 2018 and raced into a B-Feature.
The 33rd annual Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals presented by General Tire takes place January 14-19, 2019 at the Tulsa Expo Raceway, located inside the River Spirit Expo Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
