Carol, better known as Miss Carol to many, passed after a brief illness. She was born in Barre, Vermont to the late Lena and Dick Stevens. She was preceded in death by her brother Bobby Stevens and her sister Beverly Bushey. She is survived by her two nieces Pati Stutes and Tina Vandenburg.
Carol worked for the State of Vermont for many years before becoming involved with auto racing where she worked for Competition Tire, Penske Shocks, Goodyear Racing, and Stewart-Haas Racing. She was well known around the NASCAR circuit as a dedicated, hard working, no nonsense woman and famous for Miss Carol’s chocolate chip cookies. Just return the empty cookie container and she would refill it the following weekend for the winning race team.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday June 16, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Heritage House of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home in Mooresville NC.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Tony Stewart Foundation.org in Carol’s honor.
