Watkins Glen / Eldora post-race penalties announced

NASCAR has released the post-race penalty report following the Cup and XFINITY races at Watkins Glen International and the Truck Series race at Eldora Speedway.

In Cup, the #96 team of Parker Kligerman was penalized for a lugnut violation.  Crew chief Mark Hillman was fined $10,000.

There were no penalties in XFINITY.

In the Truck Series, the #2 GMS Racing team of Sheldon Creed was penalized for the loss of ballast from the truck.  Crew Chief (Jeff Stankiewicz), Truck Chief (Austin Pollak), Engineer (Jonathan Stewart) have been suspended for the next three NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series points events, through September 10, 2019.

AND: GMS Racing announced today it will not appeal the penalty issued against the No. 2 team of Sheldon Creed from the race at Eldora Speedway. Darren Fraley will serve as interim crew chief for Jeff Stankiewicz for the next three NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series races at Michigan International Speedway, Bristol Motor Speedway and Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

Fraley was previously an engineer at GMS Racing in 2018 and helped Justin Haley earn three wins, nine top-five and 18 top-10 finishes en route to competing in the Championship Four at Homestead-Miami Speedway. He also served as crew chief for Jordan Anderson at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway earlier this year.
