The NASCAR Cup Series finale will be run with a familiar Goodyear Racing Eagle tire setup that has raced at all 1.5-mile tracks this season.

The championship weekend tires have been used 11 times in 2026, including four times in the Chase. This tire setup was introduced last September and has not yet raced at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

“As teams prepare for Championship Weekend’s return to Homestead, they have a year’s worth of mile-and-a-half data,” said Justin Fantozzi, Goodyear’s Director of Racing for the Americas. “The track’s variable banking and the rubber put down by our Goodyear Racing Eagles should give drivers multiple lanes to race around the track. We look forward to celebrating all three series’ champions.”

The NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series setup was introduced at Darlington Raceway in September. NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series teams haven’t used this combination of tires together this season, but both series have run each of the left- and right-side tires multiple times.

Goodyear Racing Eagles are also in action this weekend at the FIA World Endurance Championship season finale 6 Hours of Monza. Next weekend, the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series also comes to a close at Pomona Dragstrip.

Special Goodyear Blimp livery takes to the skies

Fans at Homestead-Miami Speedway will see a unique Goodyear Blimp overhead during Championship Weekend, featuring a special Grand Theft Auto VI livery created in collaboration with Rockstar Games. The activation brings a distinctive new look to one of motorsport’s most recognizable icons for NASCAR’s season finale.

Sculpture featuring recycled Goodyear Racing Eagle tires unveiled

A sculpture made primarily from recycled Goodyear Racing Eagle tires was unveiled last Thursday in a special ceremony at Lock 3 in Akron, Ohio. The 17-foot sculpture by internationally-acclaimed artist Chakaia Booker was commissioned to honor Akron’s industrial heritage in the tire industry while reflecting the region’s leadership in polymer innovation.
