NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Shane Lee has been released from H2 Motorsports, CATCHFENCE.com has confirmed.
The 26-year-old driver from Hickory, N.C. was announced as the new driver of H2 Motorsports in May at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway with the team making its debut at Iowa Speedway the next month.
In seven races, Lee earned the organization a best finish of seventh in the July race at Iowa Speedway. In five of those seven races, Lee delivered top-20 finishes.
Lee would not confirm but sources informed CATCHFENCE.com that Lee was told his termination was performance-based.
Additional sources indicate the team may not compete in Saturday afternoon’s Sport Clips VFW 200 at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway as part of a restructuring plan.
