Atlanta, Bristol, Charlotte open campgrounds to hurricane evacuees

Atlanta Motor Speedway is opening its camping facilities to evacuees seeking refuge from Hurricane Dorian.

The Speedway, which is equipped to handle thousands of campers during its annual NASCAR weekend, will provide camping space free of charge for dry RV and tent campers in its Legends Campground.

A limited number of camping spaces with water, power and sewer are also available for a nominal fee of $20 per night in the Premier Campground.

Located adjacent to the campgrounds, AMS will also open The Rinnai Shower Station camper bath house, allowing evacuees free access to hot showers and restroom facilities during their stay.

Bristol Motor Speedway will once again open its campgrounds to hurricane evacuees. Evacuees may access the Medallion Campground off Hwy 394 beginning tomorrow, Sept. 3 at Noon and are encouraged to call toll free 866.415.4158 for more information. As preparations for the Sept. 27-29 Bank of America ROVAL™ 400 continue, Charlotte Motor Speedway has opened its campgrounds for evacuees from Hurricane Dorian.

Speedway officials have opened Rock City Campground, on Bruton Smith Boulevard, and bathhouse facilities free of charge.
