NASCAR has released the post-race penalty report from the First Data 500 at Martinsville Speedway:
Team Penske crew member Dave Nichols Jr. has been suspended from the next Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Championship points event for a violation of Sections 12.8.1.c: Member Conduct Guidelines
Note: Correct and proper conduct, both on and off the race track, is part of a Member’s responsibilities. Member-to-Member confrontation with physical violence.
The penalty comes from his role in the post-race fight involving Denny Hamlin and Joey Logano.
There were also four lose lug nut penalties to #24-William Byron, #18-Kyle Busch, #17-Ricky Stenhouse, Jr., and #12-Ryan Blaney. Their crew chiefs were each fined $10,000.
There were no Truck Series penalties.
