CONCORD, N.C. (Nov. 20, 2019) – Santa’s elves at Charlotte Motor Speedway are adding the final touches of holiday cheer as America’s Home for Racing prepares for the opening weekend of Speedway Christmas presented by Cook Out. Media are invited to be a part of the celebration as friends of the speedway gather to ring in the holiday season.
Here’s a glance at two events that will kick off Speedway Christmas’ six-week celebration of festive fun:
- Thursday – “Lights-to-Music” Test Night – See behind the scenes as Speedway Christmas’ “lights-to-music” section is synced and tuned for Friday night’s show opening. Media are invited to help kick off this year’s show from 6-8 p.m. ET on Thursday, Nov. 21, to help put the finishing touches on this year’s show. Media should meet at the Charlotte Motor Speedway media center. The event is not open to the public.
- Friday– Speedway Christmas Opening Night – Members of the Harrisburg Cruisers and East Coast Cruisers will join Lug Nut and Santa Claus as they pace the field into the 3.75-mile light show of more than 4 million lights on opening night. To celebrate opening night of the 10th edition of Speedway Christmas presented by Cook Out, the speedway has special offers on admission, food and thrilling family fun. Additionally, local craft beer will be on sale for $1. Fireworks are set for 7:30 p.m., followed by the first showing of “Elf” on the giant Speedway TV.
