Joey Gase Switches to Xfinity Points

This weekend at Talladega Superspeedway, Joey Gase is pulling double duty, running the Cup and Xfinity series races. Because he’s running in the Xfinity event, he had to switch to declaring for Xfinity points since it’s a Dash 4 Cash event, with only Xfinity drivers eligible to compete.

In three Cup starts this season, Gase has a best finish of 20th at Daytona International Speedway. He will continue to run a partial Cup schedule, despite switching to Xfinity points.

Talladega will be Gase’s first Xfinity start since last September at Richmond Raceway, where he finished 23rd for SS Green Light Racing. In four races last year, he had a best effort of 19th.
