Taylor Gray involved in street accident; in stable condition: UPDATES

UPDATE 2: After being sidelined from competition for 13 weeks, Gray will make his second ARCA Menards Series start of the season on Saturday night at Elko (Minn.) Speedway. His last race with the national series was at Phoenix (Ariz.) Raceway in March where he finished ninth.

Saturday will begin a stretch of five straight weeks of racing for the 16 year old. He will follow the ARCA Menards Series schedule through Watkins Glen, where he intends to do double duty with ARCA and the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

UPDATE: David Gilliland Racing driver Taylor Gray, underwent surgery earlier today at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C. for a fractured L4 vertebra. Gray will also undergo another surgery in the coming days for a fractured left foot and ankle due to the accident. Gray is expected to make a full recovery.

Gray will not make his first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start in the No. 17 entry at Richmond (Va.) Raceway on April 17 as previously scheduled. The No. 17 has been withdrawn from the Richmond event.

Original Post 4-8-2021: David Gilliland Racing driver, Taylor Gray, was involved in a single-car accident last night in Statesville, N.C. Gray was transported to a local hospital where he remains in stable condition.

Gray, who currently drives in the ARCA Menards Series, is scheduled to make his first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start at Richmond (Va.) Raceway on Saturday, April 17. Gray’s participation in the event will be determined at a later time.
