Sad News – David George Mader Jr.

David George Mader, Jr. of Homewood, AL passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at the age of 90, in Mobile, AL. Dave was born in Bridgeport, WV on October 19, 1930 to Leona and David Mader.

Dave was a master mason, bricklayer, and tennis court builder. He was also the inventor of the tennis court roller for finishing tennis courts. His first love was family and his second was racing. His 25 year career produced 430 wins as he raced the biggest names in the sport. He was inducted into the Alabama Auto Racing Pioneers Hall of Fame in 2005.

Dave is preceded by his beloved wife, Eveline. He is survived by his son, Dave Mader III, his daughter Debbie McMahan and husband Cliff. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made in Dave Mader’s memory to Alabama Auto Racing Pioneers @ aarpinc.org.
