Max Papis Running First NASCAR Race in 8 Years at Indianapolis Road Course

In an updated entry list for this weekend’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course, Max Papis is listed as the driver of the No. 17 Rick Ware Racing car (partnership with SS Green Light Racing).

Papis, known as a road course ringer, will make his first start in one of the top three NASCAR national touring series since 2013 at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park, competing in the Camping World Truck Series. That season, he made five NASCAR starts, which included subbing for Tony Stewart in the No. 14 for Stewart-Haas Racing after the three-time Cup Series champion broke his leg in a dirt car incident. Papis finished 15th at Watkins Glen International.

No sponsorship for Papis has been announced for Saturday’s Pennzoil 150.
