Prior to the first red flag in Sunday’s Cup Series race at Nashville for lightning, NBC was averaging a 1.81 rating with 2.921 million viewers, Adam Stern of Sports Business Journal reports.

The inaugural Nashville Cup race earned a 1.5 rating with 2.59 million viewers, despite being aired on NBCSN.
