Fire destroys former Bud Moore Engineering building

An overnight fire on Monday has left major damage behind at a former NASCAR racing garage in Spartanburg.

The Spartanburg Fire Marshal said crews were called around 11:17 p.m. to the old Bud Moore Engineering building located along North Fairview Avenue. Upon arrival, crews encountered heavy fire.

Officials said a structural collapse occurred due to the magnitude of the fire.

The building was unoccupied and not being used at the time. There also wasn’t much inside the building.
