Max Edward Berrier, 88, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, August 30, 2024 while at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born on February 1, 1936 in Davidson County to the late Loyd and Florence Reece Berrier. Max was a faithful member of Canaan United Methodist Church and retired from Roadway Express Trucking Company. He was a modified race car driver, awarded the N.C. State Champion and a two-time season champion at Bowman Gray Stadium. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Berrier.
Max is survived by his wife of 69 years, Shirley Yokley Berrier of the home; daughters, Lee Anne Barnes of Mocksville, and Diane Fowler and husband Dennis of Wallburg; a son, Ed Berrier and wife Robbie of Wallburg; five grandchildren, Jason Fowler (Katie), Erick Fowler (Maggie), Ryan Barnes, Nathan Barnes (Claire), and Jessica Kiser (Jordan); three great-grandchildren, Greyson Kiser, Evelyn Barnes, and Madeline Barnes; sisters-in-law, Peggy Berrier, and Linda Board; brothers-in-law, Gary “Buck” Yokley (Sandra), and Larry Yokley (Glenda); and many nieces and nephews.
