HISTORY

• Construction began in 2010 on the world class road course known as the Circuit of The Americas (COTA).
• The track is nestled on 1,500 acres of land just outside of Austin, Texas.
• Circuit of The Americas has two layout configurations:
  • The first is the longer 20-turn, 3.41-mile counterclockwise circuit that takes advantage of the naturally undulating landscape, including a 133-foot hill at Turn 1. From 2021–2024 the NASCAR national series that competed at COTA competed on this configuration.
  • The second is a shorter 20-turn, 2.40-mile counterclockwise circuit that also takes advantage of the naturally undulating landscape. The 2025 season will mark the first time the NASCAR national series will compete on this configuration at COTA.

• In addition, the track has an amphitheater, the largest permanent outdoor amphitheater in Central Texas, and a 251-foot observation tower.
• The first race the Circuit of The Americas hosted was a Formula One event on November 18, 2012. The race was won by Lewis Hamilton.
• The first NASCAR national series race held at the Circuit of The Americas was on May 22, 2021 and the event was NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series race and it was won by Todd Gilliland.
