Cam Waters will not attempt Chicago race

MONSTER Tickford Mustang pilot Cam Waters still holds aspirations to race in NASCAR, however he’s confirmed he won’t be joining the field for the upcoming Chicago street race Cup Series event.

The Ford ace had been linked to an appearance in Chicago, however won’t be joining fellow Supercars racer Will Brown and former Supercars champ Shane van Gisbergen on the grid for the July 6 event.

V8 Sleuth sources understand a deal had been in the works for Waters to make his return to the Cup Series in a Ford, however it didn’t come together in time and has been shelved.
