Derek White returns to Watkins Glen with MBM Motorsports

Derek White will drive in his second NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event of 2025 when he competes at Watkins Glen International on Friday, August 8 behind the wheel of the No. 69 MBM Motorsports Ford F-150.

White, a 54-year-old First Nation Mohawk from Kahnawake, Quebec, is back racing in NASCAR this year for the first time since 2016. He will proudly carry the Mohawk Warrior Society flag on his hood again at Watkins Glen, as he did in his first start of the season at North Wilkesboro Speedway. Logos of O.C.R. Gaz Bar, a gas station on the Kahnawake reservation, will cover the quarterpanels.

White’s career-best finish in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series came on another road course, Canadian Tire Motorsports Park in Ontario, in 2013. Two of his three best NASCAR Xfinity Series results also came on road courses: a Top 20 finish at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in 2012 and a Top 25 finish at Watkins Glen in 2013.

Team owner Carl Long is thrilled to finally get one of the founding members of MBM Motorsports back behind the wheel this season.

“I am so proud to have Derek in our No. 69 truck. Derek loves to represent his Mohawk heritage, and the design on the truck represents it well,” said Long. “We have had some strong races on road courses with Derek in the past. I am looking forward to knocking the rust off his road racing skills! His home is a few hours north on the Kahnawake reserve near Montreal, so we expect lots of his friends to come out to the track to watch in person.”

FOX Sports 1 has live television coverage of the 72-lap NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Mission 176 at The Glen on Friday, August 8, beginning at 5 pm ET.
