Veteran NASCAR driver David Starr announced today that he will compete at Daytona International Speedway in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series (NOAPS), formerly the NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS), driving the No. 53 Chevrolet Camaro for Joey Gase Motorsports with Scott Osteen, with APEX Wireless serving as primary sponsor in partnership with Cell Phones For Soldiers.
The Daytona race marks a long-anticipated moment for Apex Wireless, which previously was unable to sponsor within the NXS due to a conflict. With the introduction of the NOAPS, Apex Wireless is proud to step onto the national motorsports stage, ready to race and ready to serve.
“Daytona is one of the most iconic tracks in the world, and having partners who represent purpose and service makes this opportunity even more meaningful,” said David Starr. “Apex Wireless and Cell Phones For Soldiers are making a real difference, and I’m honored to help bring awareness to their mission.”
This partnership highlights a shared commitment to supporting the military and veteran community by leveraging the visibility of motorsports to amplify this meaningful cause.
“This incredible opportunity allows us to share our mission with NASCAR fans across the country, raising awareness and inspiring more people to help us connect veterans in need,” said Cell Phones for Soldiers Founder & Director, Rob Bergquist. “Every day, 22 veterans lose their lives to suicide—often driven by isolation and loneliness. Our work directly combats these challenges by providing the connectivity and support our heroes deserve.”
With the Apex Wireless and Cell Phones For Soldiers partnership showcased at Daytona, this effort represents more than a sponsorship, it is a platform for awareness, action, and appreciation for those who serve and have served.
The United Rentals 300 at Daytona International Speedway takes place on Saturday, February 14, 2026. The 38-car field will take the green flag shortly after 5:00 p.m. ET on the 2.5-mile superspeedway in Daytona Beach, Florida.
