Former NASCAR winner Elliott Sadler is returning to his racing roots next month. Elliott will pilot the No. 16VA Pace-O-Matic Modified for Sadler-Stanley Racing to make his SMART Modified Tour debut in the $20,000 to win King of the Modifieds at South Boston Speedway on March 20-21.
Elliott was the 1995 South Boston Speedway Late Model champion and has a grandstand named in his honor at the historic Virginia short track. Elliott used his success at South Boston Speedway to catapult him to a long and successful NASCAR career, which included 17 wins in NASCAR’s National Series, which saw him named as the Most Popular Driver by the fans, four times. Elliott is one of only 36 racers in history to have won races in all of NASCAR’s top-three National Series divisions.
The race will mark the third of the SMART Modified Tour season.
