Las Vegas penalties: Three members of No. 48 Big Machine Racing team suspended four races

NASCAR officials have suspended Big Machine Racing’s No. 48 crew chief Patrick Donahue and car chief Dillon Bassett and engineer Morgan Olsen for the next four points-paying races after ballast fell out of Patrick Staropoli’s car during the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

The ballast falling onto the track violates Sections 10.5.2.5 B & E: Safety Violations of the NASCAR Rule Book.
