ORIGINAL POST 4-6-2026: Preparation for NASCAR’s return to Chicagoland Speedway continues later this month with a Goodyear tire test scheduled for Tuesday, April 21. The session will mark the first on-track activity at the 1.5-mile tri-oval since 2019, providing teams and officials with critical data ahead of the facility’s highly anticipated return to the national spotlight in 2026.
A total of six drivers will participate in the test, representing both the NASCAR Cup Series and the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series. Cup Series entries include Ryan Blaney, Denny Hamlin, and Kyle Larson, while the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series will be represented by Justin Allgaier, Brandon Jones, and Nick Sanchez. The test will focus on tire performance and durability as NASCAR prepares for competition at the intermediate track.
This event is FREE to the public and will include fun activities and giveaways in between laps!
The test serves as an early step toward NASCAR’s return to Chicagoland Speedway on July 3–5, 2026, when the ARCA Menards Series, NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, and NASCAR Cup Series will all compete at the venue for the first time in seven years. The Independence Day weekend event is expected to reestablish Chicagoland as a key stop on the NASCAR calendar, with tickets available now at ChicagolandSpeedway.com.
