The Goodyear Racing Eagle tires selected for the NASCAR Cup Series this weekend are new to Texas Motor Speedway but the combination has been in use since late last season.
This tire setup has raced this year at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Kansas Speedway – both 1.5-mile ovals like Texas – and Darlington Raceway for the Goodyear 400. The left-side tire was introduced at Charlotte Motor Speedway last May and features a compound update compared with what was run in Texas last year, while the right-side tire underwent a construction change, and was first raced at Kansas last fall.
“The Goodyear Racing Eagle tire setup we have selected for Texas Motor Speedway represents the next step in the consolidation of our intermediate track tire package,” said Justin Fantozzi, Goodyear Director of Racing for the Americas. “Teams are already familiar with the combination, having run it three times this year, and we are happy with its performance at similar 1.5-mile tracks.”
NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series teams have a similar level of experience with their tires chosen for this weekend, which they have already raced at Las Vegas and Kansas in recent weeks. The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series setup is the same, but that series hasn’t run these tires yet in 2026. The 15-inch tires will also use inner liners, as is customary on tracks one mile and longer.
Goodyear Racing Eagle tires are also in action this weekend at South Georgia Motorsports Park for the NHRA Southern Nationals and in France for the European Le Mans Series 4 Hours of Le Castellet.
