Daytona International Speedway announced today that tickets are now on sale for NASCAR’s 2027 season opener, the DAYTONA 500. The 69th running of The Great American Race takes the track on Sunday, February 21, 2027.
“Now that tickets are officially on sale for the most prestigious race on the NASCAR schedule, we are ready to welcome everyone back to The World Center of Racing,” said Frank Kelleher, President of Daytona International Speedway. “Every year the unpredictability of the DAYTONA 500 captivates race fans from all over the world, and we look forward to bringing our fans another unforgettable kickoff to the NASCAR season.”
This past February, fans were able to witness another thrilling edition of the DAYTONA 500. Tyler Reddick led one lap out of 400, but it was the most crucial one. On the final lap of The Great American Race, the No. 45 muscled his way to the finish line with a 0.308-second victory over 2023 DAYTONA 500 winner Ricky Stenhouse Jr. The 2026 race had a record number of different lap leaders at 25, highlighting the intense racing at DAYTONA that keeps our fans coming back year after year.
Though fans will have to wait until next year for the 69th running of The Great American Race, taking place on Sunday, Feb. 21, 2027, NASCAR racing will be back at Daytona International Speedway in just a couple months.
The Coke Zero Sugar 400 race weekend returns Aug. 28-29, in the regular season finale for the NASCAR Cup Series. Those in attendance can witness all the intensity of superspeedway racing at DAYTONA as drivers lock in the field for The Chase. Last August, Ryan Blaney secured the checkered flag by soaring from 12th in the running order with three laps left and crossed the finish line 0.031 seconds ahead of runner up Daniel Suárez.
