A group of San Diego-based companies will come together on one of the most unique NASCAR stages of the season as partners on Lavar Scott’s No. 45 Alpha Prime Racing entry in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race at San Diego on Saturday, June 20, at Naval Base Coronado.
The partnership brings together local businesses, emerging brands and community-focused activations around one of the most anticipated news events on the NASCAR calendar. With NASCAR making a highly anticipated stop at Naval Base Coronado, the program creates a meaningful opportunity to showcase San Diego companies on a national sports and entertainment platform while connecting them with fans, military personnel, and the broader motorsports community.
A First-of-Its-Kind NASCAR Weekend
The San Diego race weekend marks one of the most distinctive events on the 2026 NASCAR calendar. Held at Naval Base Coronado, the weekend brings NASCAR onto an active military installation for a special three-day event that blends major-league stock car racing, San Diego’s coastal setting, and the region’s deep military heritage. The NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race on Saturday, June 20, will be contested over 60 laps and 204 miles, giving fans a rare chance to see NASCAR compete at a venue unlike any other on the schedule.
Local San Diego Partners
The partnership brings together several local brands with deep ties to the San Diego business community, including The Local Pacific Beach, Backyard Banger, PNKYS, First National Bullion, Boutique Recruiting, and Boutique Recruiting’s EZ Temps. Together, the program reflects Alpha Prime Racing’s continued focus on introducing new companies to NASCAR through authentic market-driven partnerships.
Race-Week Fan Zone Event
As part of the race-week celebration, The Local Pacific Beach will host the PB Local NASCAR Fan Zone Pre-party on Friday, June 19, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at The Local Pacific Beach, located at 809 Thomas Ave. in San Diego. The all-ages event will allow fans and San Diego residents to connect with the team the day before the race, and will include a driver meet-and- greet, photo opportunities, merchandise giveaways, and a show car of the No. 45 Alpha Prime Racing entry on-site.
Quotes
“San Diego represents exactly the type of partnership model we want to continue building at Alpha Prime Racing. Bringing local businesses together around a national platform and creating opportunities that extend beyond race day is something our team is passionate about. We’re excited to help showcase these brands and welcome new audiences into NASCAR,” said Jusan Hamilton, President of Alpha Prime Racing
For Scott, the San Diego race represents another opportunity to continue building his NASCAR profile while bringing new companies into the sport.
“It is exciting to have so many San Diego-based companies on the car for this race,” said Scott. “This is a special weekend for NASCAR, and I am proud to represent partners who are connected to the city and excited about being part of the event. I’m also looking forward to meeting fans at The Local on Friday night before we go racing on Saturday.”
“This is exactly the kind of program we love putting together,” said Craig Baroncelli of A.E. Engine. “You have a young, talented driver in Lavar Scott, a major NASCAR event coming to San Diego, and a group of local companies that wanted to be part of something memorable. We are also very appreciative of the efforts of Jusan Hamilton, President of Alpha Prime Racing, who went above and beyond to help us bring this program to San Diego businesses.”
Additional Car Partners
The No. 45 entry will also feature the emerging brand Bender Extender Hangover Support. While based in Arizona, Bender Extender is rapidly growing its presence in the San Diego market. The San Diego race marks the brand’s third involvement with NASCAR, following previous activations at Talladega and Nashville.
In addition, the car will carry the initials WEO in honor of the late brother-in-law of Brent Powell, CEO of Plan B Sales and Circle B Diecast. Powell’s brother-in-law, William Edward Oxendine, a Navy veteran, passed away several years ago and the family spread his ashes just off the coast of Naval Base Coronado at his request.
