Iowa Speedway announced today that NASCAR will return to the Fastest Short Track on the Planet on Independence Day weekend in 2027, with racing set for July 2-4, following a third-consecutive NASCAR Cup Series sellout in 2026. Next year’s race will mark the beginning of a new era for Iowa Speedway, as the facility will debut a brand-new racing surface following a full repave that will begin shortly after the checkered flag falls on this weekend’s Iowa Corn 350 Powered by Ethanol.
NASCAR also announced today that Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Iowa Corn 350 Powered by Ethanol has officially sold out, underscoring the tremendous demand for NASCAR’s return to the state of Iowa. Limited tickets are still available for Saturday’s Hy-Vee Perks 250 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race and Friday’s JR & Co. 150 showcasing the stars of the ARCA Menards Series. The 2027 NASCAR Weekend at Iowa Speedway will feature three days of racing:
- Friday, July 2: ARCA Menards Series
- Saturday, July 3: NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series
- Sunday, July 4: NASCAR Cup Series
Construction crews are scheduled to begin work on the repave immediately following the conclusion of the 2026 Cup Series race. The new racing surface will preserve Iowa Speedway’s reputation for close-quarters competition while positioning the facility to host major motorsports events for decades to come.
