Sam Hunt Racing (SHR) is honored to announce that the organization has been selected as a finalist in the Carolinas Business of the Year (CBOY) competition, a fundraising competition benefitting SHR’s newest partner, Dream On 3. The opportunity to participate in Dream On 3’s CBOY competition sits right at the intersection of SHR’s competitive spirit and people-first mentality.
The CBOY competition is a regionally acclaimed fundraising competition that brings together businesses across North and South Carolina to raise funds to fulfill the mission of Dream On 3 (DO3). DO3 creates memorable and unforgettable experiences for kids and young adults living with life-altering conditions. Dream On 3 has fulfilled over 300 dreams since the 501c3’s inception in 2013.
“It means a lot to all of us at SHR to be nominated for Carolinas Business of the Year, and even more so to be partnering with an organization like Dream on 3,” said Sam Hunt, owner of Sam Hunt Racing. “My fulfillment in motorsports has always revolved around the ability to use our NASCAR platform for good, and to help others; and DO3’s mission aligns perfectly with our core values. We are looking forward to contributing to DO3’s mission and to making dreams come true into the future.”
Sam Hunt Racing is the first sports organization to be nominated as a finalist in CBOY. Additionally, it is the first organization to simultaneously be nominated and host a Dream event in early 2027.
“Dream On 3 is honored to have Sam Hunt Racing in the huddle for this year’s Carolina’s Business of the Year competition,” said Elizabeth Lindsey, Executive Director and Co-Founder of Dream on 3. “SHR has created an incredible culture of teamwork, perseverance with family values at the core which aligns so well with DO3. We are excited to see what we can do together to make more dreams a reality for some incredible kiddos in need of hope and encouragement! It’s going to be an exciting ride.”
CBOY consists of three groups of businesses competing against each other to raise the most funds in each category – small business, mid-size business and large business. SHR is competing in the mid-size business category.
Each team will compete by general fundraising, creating and selling sponsorship opportunities for Dream On 3’s Dream Gala in February 2027, networking, donating auction items and more. The competition will conclude on February 13, 2027 when the Dream Gala will be held, one week prior to the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series’ first race weekend of the season at Daytona International Speedway.
Sam Hunt Racing is requesting NASCAR industry members, drivers, teams and partners to be involved in a unique and uplifting opportunity to benefit Dream On 3 through donations, sponsorship opportunities, and auction items.
