#19-Christian Eckes won the Kansas Lottery 200 NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series race at Kansas Speedway in dramatic fashion on Friday night. Following a restart with just two laps remaining, Eckes took it three-wide with #11-Corey Heim and #38-Zane Smith and came out on top to score his third win of the season. It was his fourth career Truck Series win.
#17-Taylor Gray finished second, ahead of #25-Matt DiBenedetto, #11-Heim, and #38-Smith.
The race was the cutoff for the next round of the playoffs, the Round of 8. Despite finishing third, it wasn’t enough for #25-DiBenedetto, who missed the next round by just five points behind #99-Ben Rhodes. Rhodes had a rough final stage and had to pit under green twice for a vibration. He finished 25th. Teammate and three-time past champion #88-Matt Crafton’s night was even worse. Crafton began the race at the rear of the field after an incident in practice forced the team to a backup. He worked his way through the field but bounced off of the wall and had to make multiple pitstops for repairs. He ended the night 33rd, and failed to advance to the next round.
#42-Carson Hocevar won stage 2 and finished sixth. #52-Stewart Friesen, #2-Nick Sanchez, who won the opening stage, #16-Tyler Ankrum, and #61-Jake Drew closed out the top-10.
Pole-sitter #4-Chase Purdy finished 14th, one lap down, after pitting under green for a vibration.
There were 18 lead changes among 11 drivers and five cautions for 34 yellow flag laps.
The average speed of the race was: 111.960 mph.
