Carson Hocevar grabs first-career win in double overtime at Texas Motor Speedway: Nick Sanchez led an absolutely dominant 168 of 172 laps in Saturday’s SpeedyCash.com 250 at Texas Motor Speedway, but the 21-year old rookie and reigning NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series champion Zane Smith collided at the front of the field after taking the white flag and Carson Hocevar instead drove through to take his first career victory in double overtime.(Read More)(4-1-2023)

#42-Carson Hocevar won the SpeedyCash.com 250 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday for his first career Truck Series win. Hocevar was running third on the white flag, but leaders #2-Nick Sanchez and #38-Zane Smith wrecked while racing for the top spot.
Sanchez dominated the race after he started from the pole, swept stages one and two, and led 168 of the 172 laps.
#5-Dean Thompson was one of four drivers involved in a wreck on lap 146. Thompson’s battered Toyota took multiple hard hits. He climbed from his race truck under his own power before receiving medical assistance. He was awake and alert following the accident, but was transported to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center for further evaluation.
#4-Chase Purdy scored his career best finish in second. #52-Stewart Friesen was third. #98-Ty Majeski was fourth, and #35-Jake Garcia was fifth.
#13-Hailie Deegan, #11-Corey Heim, #30-Ryan Vargas, also a career-best in eighth, #51-Jack Wood, and #99-Ben Rhodes completed the top-10.
There were seven lead changes among four drivers and 12 cautions for 36 yellow flag laps.
The average speed of the race was: 99.39 mph.
