Christian Eckes wins at Martinsville after drama-filled closing laps: Christian Eckes wasn’t about to lose a race he had dominated, even if it meant using the front bumper on his No. 19 Chevrolet—twice. After a restart with five laps left in Friday night’s Zip Buy Now, Pay Later 200 at Martinsville Speedway, Eckes first moved the Toyota of Taylor Gray and then the Ford of Ben Rhodes—both of which were rolling on 40-lap fresher tires—to win the race and earn a spot in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series’ Championship 4 Race.(Read More)(11-1-2024)

#19-Christian Eckes won the Zip Buy Now Pay Later 200 NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series race at Martinsville Speedway and ruffled some feathers of his competitors heading into the season finale championship race next weekend. The win was his fourth of the season, second at Martinsville, and the ninth Truck Series win of his career.
#99-Ben Rhodes finished second. Rhodes was leading with just over two laps to go but #19-Eckes bumped him, sending him up the track to reclaim the lead. Eckes had used the same maneuver just laps earlier on #17-Taylor Gray.
Gray muscled to the lead following a restart on lap 195 of the 200 laps. Eckes got to the rear of Gray, who had 40 lap fresher tires, within a lap and made contact to regain the position.
#77-Chase Purdy came in third, while #17-Gray finished fourth. The finish wasn’t enough for Gray, as he failed to qualify for the championship 4. Upset with the outcome, Gray walked to victory lane as Eckes celebrated, escorted by NASCAR security, to voice his displeasure to the race winner.
#2-Nick Sanchez, #38-Layne Riggs, #11-Corey Heim, #18-Tyler Ankrum, #9-Grant Enfinger, and #52-Stewart Friesen were the remainder of the top-10.
#9-Enfinger was already locked into the final four entering the race courtesy two wins in the Round of 8. Joining Enfinger and Eckes in the championship battle next weekend will be #11-Heim and #98-Majeski.
Prior to the dust-ups near the end of the race, Eckes dominated. He started from the pole, won stages one and two, and paced the field for 187 laps.
There were six lead changes among three drivers and six cautions for 46 yellow flag laps.
The average speed of the race was: 65.613mph.
