Ty Gibbs Bumps John Hunter Nemechek on Last Lap to Win at Richmond: Ty Gibbs bumped his Joe Gibbs Racing teammate John Hunter Nemechek out of the lead on the final lap to claim his third NASCAR Xfinity Series race win of the season – by a mere .116-seconds over Nemechek in the ToyotaCare 250 at Richmond Raceway.(Read more)(4-2-2022)

On the final lap, #54-Ty Gibbs moved #18-John Hunter Nemechek out of the way to win the ToyotaCare 250 at Richmond Raceway. It’s Gibbs’ third win in seven races to start off the 2022 season.
Nemechek, who led a race-high 135 laps, finished second, and wasn’t happy following the race. #1-Sam Mayer finished third, winning an additional $100,000 through the Dash 4 Cash program. #16-AJ Allmendinger and #98-Riley Herbst made up the rest of the top five.
#11-Daniel Hemric placed sixth, as #8-Josh Berry, #68-Brandon Brown, #39-Ryan Sieg and #38-Parker Retzlff completed the top 10.
Nemechek won the opening stage, while Gibbs was able to scoot by late in the second stage to score his first stage victory of the season.
There were eight lead changes among three drivers and three cautions for 24 yellow flag laps.
The average speed of the race was 95.299 mph.

For the second straight week, #54-Ty Gibbs will lead the field to the green flag, posting a lap of 121.836 mph. This is Gibbs’ first career pole on an oval.
Making his first start of the season for Joe Gibbs Racing, #18-John Hunter Nemechek was second (121.098 mph). #9-Noah Gragson (120.768 mph), #21-Austin Hill (120.573 mph) and #19-Brandon Jones (120.525 mph) made up the rest of the top five.
In his first Xfinity Series start of the year, #5-Ryan Preece will start sixth. #51-Jeremy Clements, #39-Ryan Sieg, #16-AJ Allmendinger and #38-Parker Retzlaff fill out the top 10.
