It took two overtimes, but #7-Justin Allgaier edged out #2-Sheldon Creed for the Wawa 250 Xfinity Series win at Daytona International Speedway. The win is Allgaier’s first on a superspeedway — and his first in 26 starts at Daytona.
#2-Creed finished runner-up for the second consecutive week, but earned a playoff point by winning the second stage. #11-Daniel Hemric finished third, with #48-Parker Kligerman and #00-Cole Custer rounding out the top five.
#39-Ryan Sieg placed sixth, as #31-Parker Retzlaff, #78-Anthony Alfredo, #08-Gray Gaulding and #10-Justin Haley completed the top 10.
Polesitter #21-Austin Hill led a race-high 36 laps and won the opening stage. He was involved in a late wreck and finished 23rd.
There were 20 lead changes among nine drivers and six cautions for 32 yellow flag laps.
The average speed of the race was 124.779 mph.

For the third time in the 2023 season, #21-Austin Hill won a superspeedway pole in the Xfinity Series. At a speed of 182.719 mph, #21-Hill was nearly three-tenths of a second quicker than second place to score the pole award for Friday’s Wawa 250.
Richard Childress Racing swept the front row, with #2-Sheldon Creed turning the second best lap (181.620 mph). #18-Sammy Smith will start third (181.519), with #16-Chandler Smith (181.342 mph) and #48-Parker Kligerman (181.221 mph) rounding out the top five.
#11-Daniel Hemric, #20-John Hunter Nemechek, #19-Trevor Bayne, #10-Justin Haley and #22-Jeb Burton complete the top 10.
